HydroSure Soaker Hose Barbed Tap Connector - 3/4" BSP Female x 13mm - Pack of 25
A pack of 25 tap connectors to join 13mm Soaker Hose to an outside tap. The barbed edge secures the pipe in place and reduces the risk of pipe dislocation.
Use this connector with 13mm Soaker Hose

Watertight Connection
The ergonomically shaped tapered edge allows the pipe to easily slide onto the joiner and the protruding barb anchors it securely into place. Heat the end of the pipe in hot water for 10-30 seconds for easy installation.
Build an Irrigation System
Ideal for use in micro-irrigation/emitter systems that function at optimal pressures between 0.5 bar to 3 bar pressure. Use a Pressure Reducer at the start of your irrigation system to regulate the pressure to the correct level.
Solutions that Work
Use barbed connectors to create a pipe network individually tailored to your garden layout. The connector's wide internal bore promises minimal flow disruption whilst the smooth internal diameter reduces friction loss. Use Pipe Stakes every metre to hold the pipe securely in place with the option to cover it with decorative bark.
UV Resistant
Made from high-quality UV stabilised materials for long life and protection against deterioration when exposed to sunlight. The robust raw materials this connector is made from means it can easily withstand bar pressures required for low-volume irrigation systems.
How to Measure your Outdoor Tap
Most outdoor taps feature a ½” or ¾” outlet but it is worth measuring to get the correct size. To measure, take a ruler to the outside thread and note down the width between both widest points. If your tap, for example, is measuring 1” then minus ¼” of an inch to get the size of connector required. In this case, that would be a ¾” Tap Connector.

Irrigation Fittings Frequently Asked Questions
- The external diameter is printed on the surface of a barbed and nut lock fitting however, compatible Drip Line, Soaker Hose and LDPE Pipe are quoted by their internal diameter. For easy identification of the compatible pipe, you will see our barbed and nut lock connectors listed with their internal diameter because connectors push inside the pipe. As barbed and nut lock connections must be tight to ensure a secure, watertight seal, we advise heating the pipe in boiling water before installation to make insertion easier.
What size connector does my irrigation supply pipe need?
Irrigation pipe is compatible with connectors the same size as the pipe’s internal diameter. For a more secure connection with minimal risk of pipe dislocation, use connectors 1mm larger than the internal diameter of your pipe to ensure a watertight seal.
Example
4mm Connectors - Micro Pipe and Micro Drip Line
13mm Connectors - 13mm Soaker Hose
14mm Connectors - 14mm LDPE and 14mm Drip Line
How do I connect LDPE/drip line to a garden hose pipe?
The soft PVC structure of a garden hose is not compatible with barbed or nut lock fittings as these connectors require the rigid pipe structure of drip line or LDPE to lock onto. To connect drip line or LDPE pipe to a garden hose, connect a Barbed Director to a Quick Click Tap Connector by simply threading them together. Connect the LDPE pipe or drip line to the barbed outlet and install the Hose Pipe to the quick-click tap connector via a Hose End Connector.
My barbed connectors keep coming loose from my irrigation pipe!
Loose barbed fittings indicate either the incorrect-sized connector has been purchased or the pressure running through the system is too high. Too much pressure will cause barbed connectors to dislocate from the pipe. Check that the pressure running through your system is regulated to the correct level using a Pressure Reducer at the start of your system and install a Ratchet Clamp at each connection point to secure the pipe in position. Can barbed fittings be used with MDPE or HDPE pipes?
No, barbed fittings should only be used to connect lengths of LDPE, Drip Line and Soaker Hose. The wall structure of Medium-Density and High-Density pipe requires fittings that fit the external diameter and should be installed alongside Compression Fittings. Can barbed fittings be buried underground?
Yes, barbed fittings are ideal for sub-surface installation up to 15cm and are capable of withstanding bar pressures required for a small domestic underground sprinkler irrigation system. Top Tip: Before burying the system underground, install a Ratchet Clamp to secure each outlet and check each connection is watertight. How do I branch off micro pipe and micro dripline from irrigation pipe?
Begin by piercing a 4mm hole into the side wall of the LDPE Irrigation Pipe using a Hole Punch. One outlet of a 4mm Barbed Joiner can be pushed into the hole created and the other protruding from outside the pipe offers the ideal connection for a length of 4mm Drip Line or 4mm Micro Pipe.
Please Note: Branching off 4mm drip line from 14mm or 18mm drip line should be avoided as piercing holes in the sidewall can impact the pre-determined output of emitters. Instead, branch off micro drip line using LDPE as the header pipe.
