Solutions that Work

For Top Tips on how to build a Micro Drip System tailored to your garden, read our Buyers Guide.

Solutions that Work

CETA drippers can be installed into the wall of LDPE pipe by piercing a hole and removing the barbed outlet to reveal the spout. Alternatively, leave the barbed attachment intact and connect to micro-pipe (in lengths up to 4m). The removable attachment means there is no need for a 4mm joiner. CETA Drippers are also easy to take apart for maintenance. Simply unscrew the head, clear out any debris and re-assemble.

Blockage Protection

CETA drippers require minimal maintenance due to built-in blockage reduction technology. Features an internal filter that traps small particles and an insect baffling cross-shaped core inside the spout that prevents entry of insects blocking output. The internal patterned labyrinth maximises turbulence forcing water to spin and whirl around the dripper so particles do not have a chance to settle.

Pressure Compensation

Pressure Compensating drippers offer the perfect solution for watering sloped areas or large run lengths as drippers emit exactly the same amount of water regardless of elevation or location within the system. Top Tip: Pressure compensating drippers self-compensate between 1 – 3 bar pressure and require a pressure reducer at the start of the system to function optimally.

UV Protection

Manufactured using high-quality UV stabilised polypropylene and silicone to ensure longer-lasting properties and prevent deterioration when exposed to sunlight. The dripper is suitable for farming and horticultural applications as it is resistant to common agricultural chemicals and fertilisers. Conforms to ISO 9261 - Suitable for Agricultural applications.

Time and Water Saving

Using a micro-drip system not only saves time but also uses up to 90% less water than manual watering and sprinkler systems. Drippers can be positioned to deliver water with pinpoint accuracy directly to the roots of the plant. Automate your irrigation system by installing a water timer so you can irrigate your garden even when you are on holiday!

Micro Drippers Frequently Asked Questions

  • Some of my Micro Drippers are not working!

    Common Problems

    • Drippers not emitting: Check the flow rate from the tap using our Water Pressure and Flow Rate Guide. A flow rate of 540 LPH and a Dripper output of 8 LPH means up to 67 emitters can be run in a single zone. (Flow Rate Divided by Emitter Output).
    • Dry spots: Emitters can become clogged with insects or dirt. Regularly flushing the pipe network, dismantling the drippers and cleaning them under running water prevents blockages.
    • Structural Damage: Digging in the garden can puncture the supply pipe affecting emitter performance. Locate leaks or water pooling and fix the pipe by cutting out the damaged section using Pipe Cutters and re-connect using a Joiner.
    • Pressure Loss: Make sure any open end of the pipe is plugged using an End Cap. This maintains water pressure at the correct level for emitters to function.
  • My Micro Drippers keep clogging and blocking!

Use an Irrigation filter at the start of your system to prevent naturally occurring sediment from clogging dripper outlets.

    Drippers that Prevent Blockages

Drippers with a Check Valve prevent calcification of the internal pipe by keeping water in the system after it is switched off.

Self-Flushing Drippers have a turbulent flow patterned labyrinth preventing sediment from settling and flushing out unwanted debris.

  • How much does Micro Drip irrigation cost?

Components used to build a Micro Drip system are often inexpensive with a small system starting from around £24.

HydroSure Drippers, Pipe and Connectors are a built-to-last and cost-effective solution manufactured from durable UV-stabilised plastic offering resistance to deterioration from direct sunlight and harsh weather conditions.

  • Can I buy more Micro Drippers to extend my current system?

Yes, simply connect the additional pipe using a Barbed or Nut Lock Joiner. Alternatively, 4mm Joiners and Micro Pipe can be used to tap into the wall of the LDPE Pipe to take drippers up to 10 metres away from the main supply.
  • How do I hold Irrigation Pipe and Drippers in position?

Properly uncoiling the irrigation pipe helps with installation. Make pipe easier to work with by weighing it down on either end with a brick and allow any bends to settle. The pipe can then be secured into place every metre and at either side of where a dripper is positioned using Pipe Stakes.
  • Can a Dripper be inserted into garden hose pipe?

No, hose pipe is manufactured from flexible PVC that when punctured to insert a Micro Dripper frays the surface and does not create a watertight seal.

Instead, insert Micro Drippers into the wall of Irrigation Pipe. LDPE Pipe has a rigid wall that a Micro Dripper can lock into. Alternatively, use alongside Micro Pipe for installations up to 10 metres away from the main supply.

  • Will a Micro Drip System over winter or does it need to be removed?

HydroSure Micro Drippers are manufactured from high-quality polypropylene and silicone to ensure longer-lasting durability. For this reason, Drippers can remain in position over the winter months.

Top Tip: Avoid the impact of thawing and freezing by removing the End Caps or using a Valve in place of an end piece. Run water through the system for around 2 minutes to flush out any debris.

  • Micro Irrigation Drippers vs Drip Line

Both Drippers and Drip Line regulate water flow based on the plant’s water consumption requirements. Whilst Drip Line is easier to set up, Micro Drippers enable flexible placement flower beds, planters, hanging baskets and pots rather than being confined to the pre-set spacings of Drip Line.

  • Drip Irrigation vs Micro Sprinklers and Spray

Sprinklers and sprays irrigate multiple plants from a single emitter whilst Micro Drippers use up to 80% less water and deliver it directly to the plant's roots where it is needed most.
