Automated Operation

• Instant set up - Automate and regulate watering, offering control and convenience. Set your timer at the time you would like your system to switch on. Watering will commence immediately after programming.
• Built-in delay function - allows programming to be set to the required watering time. Hold the delay button down until the LED light shows and press the delay button for every hour of delay needed.
• Operating Water Pressure: 0.5-8 Bar - (Please Note: This Timer is NOT compatible with a Water Butt.)

Water-Saving Irrigation

Connect the HydroSure Rain Sensor (not included) to the built-in port located on the underside of the timer. Simply plug the auxiliary cable from the water sensor into this port. This sends communications to the timer to skip watering on rainy days or when the soil is too wet.

Easy Set-Up

• The large LED-backlit digital display permits simple, straightforward programming. Automated watering can be customised from 1 - 240 minutes, with watering frequency from 4,6 or 12 hours or 1 – 15 days.
• Flexible watering with a manual watering function - set the run time dial to ON and the timer will allow you to water manually.
• The timer requires 2 x AA batteries (not supplied) - we recommend using non-rechargeable brand new batteries at the start of the watering season. The Low Battery Indicator - an LED light battery indicator will flash once every 4 seconds to indicate the battery is fully functional allowing you to swap batteries if the timer is low.

Responsible Watering

The built-in ECO Function can be easily adjusted using the + or - buttons to set the duration into smaller watering cycles. The delay waters for a short time, pauses then re-commences watering, this acts as the soak time, minimising wastage and runoff.

Watertight Solutions with Tried and Trusted Durability

Features internal and external O-rings for extra reliability against leaks and a rubber-sealed enclosed battery compartment for extra reassurance from water damage. The built-in metal mesh filter provides a high-quality water filtration solution, prolonging the life of the timer.

Leading Brand Compatibility

Easily connect to an outdoor tap using the ¾”/1” tap connector, the timer also arrives complete with a ¾” male tap connection that can connect to any hose end connecter with a quick click. For more versatile watering connect a 3/4" female threaded accessory such as, a Barbed Tap Connector. Hand thread the timer to the tap - do not use tools and overtighten.
Top Tip: When using the manual feature, the timer will cancel the current set watering program. Install a Water Distributor before the timer to allow attachment of a hose pipe or other manual watering methods without disrupting the timer.

System Maintenance

The timer must be removed from the tap and drained of any sitting water before the first frosts and stored over winter indoors in a frost-proof garage or shed in an upright position. Remove the internal filter and clean under running water ensuring the mesh and rubber seal are intact before replacing it inside the timer. Top Tip: The water timer is water-resistant, not water-proof. Do not submerge your timer underwater.

Irrigation Timer Frequently Asked Questions

  • How can I stop my tap timer watering when the ground is too wet?

HydroSure has a range of irrigation timers compatible with a Rain Sensor. A rain sensor features built-in disks that absorb water and prompt your irrigation timer to skip watering on rainy days without having to manually re-set your timer. As the weather begins to clear, the disks dry out and the timer automatically recommences its pre-set programs. This water-saving feature prevents wastage and overwatering detrimental to plant health.

  • How long do the batteries last in an Irrigation Timer?

At the start of every watering season, install brand new good quality batteries and remove the batteries at the end of the watering season whilst the timer is in storage.

Depending on how often and for how long the watering cycles are set, the batteries should last up to 6 months without needing replacement.

You may find that batteries require replacement more often if your timer is set to water twice a day every day as this requires the timer to generate significant amounts more power to operate the internal valves.

Top Tip: Internal mechanisms that start to make a lot of noise indicate the timer requires a new set of batteries.

  • Does an irrigation timer remember the set watering program?

Each time the batteries are replaced, the timer will commence watering cycles from the time the batteries are changed. For this reason, change the batteries at the time you would like watering cycles to begin and reset the program.

Please Note: Water timers will wipe the pre-set program when switched to the manual function. For flexible watering, use alongside a Water Distributor to switch the water flow to each outlet without disrupting the timer.

  • Are Tap Timers Temperature and Weather Resistant?

    • Irrigation timers are water-resistant however, during prolonged forecasted wet weather conditions, disconnect your timer from the tap and irrigation system and bring it indoors. This prevents saturating the internal mechanisms that affect the longevity of your tap timer. Alternatively, a timer installed in a sheltered position or with a DIY protective canopy can be left out during such conditions.

    • Bring your timer into a frost/damp-proof shed or garage after the watering season has finished and before the first frost. Your timer features complex internal mechanisms and valves easily damaged by cold weather.

  • Can the timer be installed horizontally or on its side?

For best results, install your tap timer to the tap in a position where the outlet is facing directly towards the floor. Installing the unit horizontally, on its side or even tipping it upside-down interferes with the direction of water flow and can cause damage to the internal mechanisms.

  • How do I know if my Irrigation Timer is working?

Most timers arrive complete with a test feature allowing you to check the unit is working. Often this requires you to turn the run time dial to the ‘ON’ position. If you can hear a buzzing noise and the LED light indicator is flashing green, the unit is working correctly.

Top Tip: Before going away on holiday, have your timer fully set up to irrigate your garden for at least a week beforehand. This will allow you to check the system is adequately watering your plants and is switching on at the required times.

  • How do I attach irrigation pipe or hose pipe to my irrigation timer?

Hosepipe Connection: HydroSure Timers arrive complete with a male outlet tap connector for a simple connection to a Garden Hose using a Hose End Connector. Use any size hose pipe and quick-click connector as the included tap connector is fully compatible.

Irrigation Pipe Connection: Most irrigation systems are built using LDPE Pipe. This is easily connected to HydroSure Tap Timers by replacing the included tap connector with a Barbed or Nut Lock Tap Connector with a ¾” female thread. HydroSure has a range of barbed/nut lock tap connectors to fit multiple pipe sizes - choose an irrigation pipe that best suits your requirements. Top Tip: HydroSure timers are compatible with Irrigation Filters and Pressure Reducers – Further customise your irrigation system by attaching it to the male threaded outlet of your timer.
